Radicalisation is a process by which an individual or group comes to adopt increasingly extreme political, social, or religious ideals and aspirations. Homophobia is linked with this because people want to help tackle the problem. Some Homophobic people want to kill all gays which is just as bad as ISIS wanting to kill lots of people.
It is like being brainwashed because people tell you joining other groups is good and do not tell you the dangers of it. You might die in the war, you might get marriage arranged to someone you don’t like or have same views. You have to buy your own gun when they don’t give you enough money to survive on and say they will train you as a soldier. They describe it you as joining paradise. FAST (Families Against Stress & Trauma) is an organisation which helps families who are victims of radicalisation.
